Giving Caregivers a Break

Caring for a person with a disability can be stressful no matter how much you love them and want to fully support them and meet their needs. Respite services give caregivers a helping hand by providing trained staff to step in for a brief period.

Who is eligible?

Any individual age 3 or older receiving Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services is eligible for respite services.

When is respite care used?

Respite care helps families navigate a variety of situations, including:

  • Short-term relief
  • Unforeseen homelessness
  • Family emergencies
  • Recovery time from medical procedures
  • And more!

Respite homes
